You will (want to) wear PAREO in November

February 01, 2018

We repeat: we have not gone crazy. That the word "November" and "pareo" appear in the same headline is not an erratum. This is not an article for the southern hemisphere either. It's real and it's happening: one of the items we'll see the most in November will be the pareo; be it in its most obvious form, the skirt, or in dresses.

Is it something this endless summer that has settled in our lives thirty days more than the bill? Will it be a thing of this tendency in the height of lengthening the seasons and diminish the importance of autumn and spring? Whatever the reason may be, large chains such as Zara or Mango have opted for a very recognizable type of skirt: the one that shares coordinates with the pareo, is built in lightweight fabric and knotted on one side.

In spite of the summer wink, the winter pareo is stripped of "happy" prints and appears in muted colors (gray, black, navy blue) and in fabrics that are resistant to low temperatures. This is from Zara and winks at the "patchwork" trend.

It also splashes the design of dresses, which adopt the characteristic symbol of the reference summer garment: the lateral lacing, already announced by the fever of this summer by the wrap dress of Réalisation Par. For sample, this Zara cross dress, lighter fabric but combined with booties.

And not only long midi lives the star skirt of November, because the stores do not forget (never do) of lovers of the miniskirt. In Mango they reinvent the pareo silhouette in light blue denim fabric. It is available on their website for 29.99 euros.

The thermometer will not be a valid excuse for not falling into another trend of an autumn that, by the time it arrives, will have to leave. Not even Ivanka Trump could resist.
